Today was our last musics class for this semester 1, we did a lot of things, first we revise all musics theory that we learnt during the term 2, because we gonna have exams about notations and musical history. and second we did again about the musical rhytm per 5 people to perform it in front of the class, and we also perform some song using angklung, a bamboo national instrument, that is popular and made from West Java. Overall i did all the activities quite well, so for the next semester i will maintain this kind performance for the whole music classes for the semester 2 music class.

Today i learnt about notation and musical rhytm, the first time they introduce musical rhytm, i did not understand any singel tan, taka, tikitiki, however i did see the example by Mr John and i did some practice for it, so in the end is understand the musical rhytm. For next term i will study more on it as well as practice it, so i do not easily forget it.

Today i learnt about the history of music and kodaly signs. Mr Herry gave us some hand out to study about the history of musics, it's about baroque,classical, romantic and modern era of musics. FOr the kodaly practice i think did not do well because i forgot everything about kodaly signs, even though i already leanrt it in grade 9 semester 1, but i forget it, so i need to do more practice.

Music Reflection 25/11/09

Today, i did an assesment for major scale, major 7th and minor 7th. I also watched some of my friends in perform the Gundul Gundul pacul song in front of our class, it's and Indonesian popular folk song. I think i did the assement quite well today, and i hope i can do this again during the real music exams.

Today Mr John announce our quiz results, I already know that i will get a bad score for the quiz because i did not understand every single questions, and it is true i only get below 5. Since almost the whole of the class only get below 6 for their quiz, so Mr John taught us again about the chords. During the explanation i always ask question to Mr John so i can understand it.

Music Reflection 18/11/09

Today i learnt how to determine different kind of chord. There are major, minor, diminished, etc. I think i did not prepare for the exercise, since i still confused with some of the notation and the chord form, because this is new for me and i did not really understand every single the nwe chord form.

Today i repeated my performance for my test which was performing my own 32 bars music composition. I think did it quite well and it is better than last wee. Event though i missed some notation during playing it, but at least i already try to perform it in a good manner. Today i also watched some of my friends performance in their own 32 bars music composition.

Today i did perform my finale 32 bars composition. I think i did not perform well because i did a lot of mistakes. My posture was not so good and i did not play the string well. For next semester i will improve by more practice and learn how to have a good posture.

Today what we did was only practicing for the own composition song performance assessment. I practiced with my other Violin group mates and we practiced during the recess and in the practical class, I think during practicing i did perform not well because i forgot some notation to play in which string of the violin, so what i did was ask Mr Sadrakh to give a short brief again about violin.

Today i put my 32 bars music composition into the music sheet final paper, i think i only did one adding to my composiiton, it's only one note that I add to my final song. After that we had a practical clas, and what we did was practice our final song for the upcoming assement.

Today was Adeline's birhday, we did sing a Happy Birthday song to celebrate her birthday, even though we celebrate it not long, but i think we celebrate it in a good manner. Today we put our composition song into the draft musicsheet paper that been given by Mr John, I copied it from my musics book, actually I already did it my music book, so it is easier.

Music Reflection 28/10/09

Today we had a singing assesment, our song titled " What a Wonderful world" is our song for our assesment. I did the assement by pair, my pai was still the same with Hasan. I think we both did quite well, however Hasan is better than me because his voice is too cool for me, since he is a singer and i as a piano player can not sing well. Overall for the performance i think i did it quite well, so for next term if there is this kind of assesment, i will maintain this kind of performance.

Today i learnt to revise all my music subject that given by the teacher because i got a quizto check my knowledge on the music. I hink i did quite well because i answer all the questions that been given by the Music Teachers. In practical class i did some new violin song to practice .

Music Reflection 21/10/09

Today i learnt how to sing a song titled " What a Wonderful World" and some inversion during the theory class. I think i did both of them quite well and for next time i will maintain my performance this week, for the assesment next week. I hope i can get good score for the singing of What a Wonderful World next week.

Music Reflection 20/10/09

Today we learnt how to sing La bamba again for the last, and this is our last practice for it, before the assesment, i also did the assesment of singing La Bamba in front of the class by pairs. My pairs was Hasan, i think during the performance i did quite well, however i can not get a full mark because i forgot to have my own style during singing this song. For the next term if i got this kind of assesment, i will carefully follow the criteria as well as what the music teacher want.

Music Reflection 14/10/09

Today i learnt how to sing La Bamba again, it just continue from our last lesson, however now i larnt it full song, last time only half of it. We also sing this song in groups; piano groups, guitar groups, woodwind groups and violin groups. The lesson that i gain from this singin performance is that to feel not shy in front of the audience, even though i can overcome with that, but i face some challenges like following the rhytm of the song and memorize the lyrics as well as pronounce the word correctly. After that we learnt and sang a jazz song called " What a Wonderful World", i did not face any challenge during singing this song, however the second verse is harder that the first verse of this jazz song. Next class we are going to have assesment for this song and i need to practice a lot.
